Stampin' UP! Play Date - Pop Up Box Technique

What great fun we had getting together for a down-line demonstrator meeting to learn a new technique - The Pop Up Box.

This took a bit of measuring but the card has a great WOW effect when it is opened and worth every measurement, cut and paste we made.

Pop-Up Box Card
Tuck a surprise inside a box-shaped pop-up card!
Supplies
⦁    8.5" x 11" card stock
⦁    Coordinating DSP patterned paper (Designers Series Paper)
⦁    Adhesive, glue dots, Stampin' Up! dimensionals
⦁    Die cuts
⦁    Acetate, cut into narrow strips
⦁    Scoring tool
⦁    Paper trimmer
⦁    Stamps (Snowflakes, flowers, butterflies, etc.)

Step-by-Step Instructions:
1.    For a standard A2 card (vertical):
   ⦁    Cut card stock to 7 1/2" x 9 1/4".
   ⦁    Score at 2 1/8", 4 1/4", 6 3/8" and 8 1/2".
⦁    Rotate the card stock to the left. Cut off 2"  (this will be for the strips on the inside of your card)
⦁    Cut the 2" strip at 3 5/8" and cut in half lengthwise.

2.   Now take the box base:
⦁    On the card base, score at 2 1/2"
⦁    Now cut the shorter 2 1/2" score lines down to the middle score line.

3.   If you would like to put on a backing to your DSP - cut the matting: (If you don't wish to add a mat background to your DSP, then just use these measurements to cut your DSP and skip #4)

   ⦁    5 1/4" x 1 7/8" of matting (card back)
   ⦁    1 7/8"  x 2 3/4" - 3 of these. (that will go around the 3 bottom sides)
   ⦁    1 7/8" x 2 1/4" - 6 of these. (top flaps / front and back)

4.   Cut your DSP paper to size as follows:
⦁    5" x 1 3/4"" - of white card stock (card back - to write or stamp a sentiment on)
   ⦁    1 3/4" x 2 1/8" - six of these. (top flaps / front and back)
   ⦁    1 3/4" x 2 5/8" - 3 of these. (that will go around the 3 bottom sides)

Assemble and decorate.
